Joss Whedon by Candace Havens

I am a big fan of Joss Whedon and his projects. When I read this, Joss had only produced Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Firefly. He’s only improved his project record since, most recently Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Subtitle: The Genius Behind Buffy

Published: 2003

Genre: biography

Length: 162 pages

Summary: The book covers Joss’s career to date, focusing on his work on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The author also mentions his work as a script doctor and on Angel and Firefly.

Final thoughts: This book was written at the height of Joss’s TV career to date with three great shows on three networks. He’s since moved into movies, but still has a show on TV now (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.). As a big fan, it’s interesting to read about his history.

Title comes from: the subject of the book

Reading challenges fulfilled: none since this was a review from a book read in a previous year
