Japan was pretty awesome. We saw amazing temples like:
Beautiful castles like:
And modern skylines like:
The two weeks flew by, but I’m still happy to be home. We will often visit a library when we go to a big city, but it wasn’t really worth it on this trip. However, the hostel we stayed at in Tokyo had a manga library with multiple volumes of several series. The kids were able to lose themselves in those books, and took every opportunity to head up and read. Mr. Curiosity got through several volumes of One Piece. This series definitely tends toward the silly end of manga. He also bought a volume containing the first three issues of Fullmetal Alchemist. I’d watched some of the animated series on Netflix and knew it was child appropriate (not always a guarantee) and contained enough magic/fantastical elements that he’d enjoy the book.
Miss Adventure, on the other hand, started the Dragon Ball series. This is another silly manga, which was just was Miss Adventure wanted.
I’ll be back to regularly scheduled book reviews tomorrow!
