The kids are still working on explorers and we didn’t get any new books this week. So, instead of writing about the books the kids read, I’m going to tell you what books I want to read. Not that my reading list isn’t incredibly long already. I just can’t help adding more books.
First I have The Design of Everyday Things by Donald Norman. My husband heard one of the hosts of the Dice Tower podcast talking about it and thought I would enjoy it. I’m more than willing to take book recommendations from my husband, so on the list it goes. Besides, I find it fascinating to see what goes in to good design (for example, I still think about bits from A Pattern Language, and it wasn’t exactly a thrilling book.)
Next is a book to remember to find for Mr. Curiosity: The Jupiter Pirates: Hunt for the Hydra by Jason Fry from Boys Rule Boys Read. The book is billed as Treasure Island in outer space. Sounds fun to me!
Finally, I’m adding Mathematics for Equity: A Framework for Successful Practice from My Math Education Blog for Fun Math Friday suggestions. It’s all about a more exploratory approach to math, which is what I like to do in our Fun Math Friday activities. I’m always on the lookout for more!
So, so you have any books you think I should add to my list?
If you’re interested in purchasing the book, you can click on the cover image or title to follow an Amazon affiliate link to the book and thanks for supporting my blog!
