Homeschooling by Gregory and Martine Millman

Subtitle: A Family’s Journey

Published: 2008

Genre: nonfiction, education

Length: 291 pages

Interest: It was recommended by a homeschooling friend when we were starting to consider homeschooling.

Summary: The book basically discusses one family’s approach to homeschooling. The parents emphasize the flexibility of homeschooling and the chance to learn in many areas of your life. They provided some specific recommendations of what worked for them, as well as the philosophy behind their approach.

Final thoughts: A very helpful book for me. I particularly liked how they emphasized the individuality of a homeschool education since you can study what you’re interested in and move on when you’ve mastered it, which public school just can’t do. It just reinforced my belief that homeschooling will be more beneficial for my family than public school, at least right now.

Title comes from: The topic the book is about.

Reading challenges fulfilled: None since this book was read and reviewed in a previous year.
